Copyright Registration

Copyright protection in Vietnam exists automatically once a work is created, but a Copyright Registration Certificate from the Copyright Office gives the author or owner a public, government-issued record — valuable evidence if ownership is ever disputed.

Registration is not mandatory to hold copyright, but it shifts the burden of proof — a registered work is presumed to belong to the certificate holder unless someone else proves otherwise, rather than the author having to prove authorship from scratch.
