Trademark Registration in Vietnam

Registering a trademark with Vietnam's National Office of Intellectual Property protects a brand name, logo, or mark against unauthorized use — a first-to-file system, so timing matters.

Vietnam follows a first-to-file trademark system — rights generally belong to whoever registers first, not whoever used the mark first. Registration is examined and granted by the National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP) under Decree No. 65/2023/ND-CP.
